I grew up in rural NSW and like many others, fled to the city as soon as I finished high school. I then bounced around a bit while I studied a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Archaeology. Straight after uni I moved to the UK where I lived in London for three years and Cardiff (Wales) for five years. During that time, I fell into Accounts work and haven’t looked back! It’s actually very similar to Archaeology in many ways.

On returning to Australia just as the GFC hit in 2009, I was struggling to find work, so I took up the suggestion of becoming a 100% commissioned sales agent. This took me all over Queensland and the Northern Territory for nearly three years in a little motorhome. While not a long-term career plan, it was a fantastic experience. I then settled in Brisbane for the next eight years, where I worked as the accounts officer for a disability support organisation. This was also a wonderful experience on many levels. Throughout my 25 year employment history I’ve worked for a wide range of organisational structures, sizes and industries.

I moved to the area 18 months ago and have been incredibly lucky to start working with Andrew, Gaye and the team at Hobbs and Associates. My spare time is taken up with my two dogs, gardening, bush walking, slowly doing up an old Queenslander and the odd whiskey around the fire.
